Canal House, Leiden
Robbert Lagerweij Interior Design was commissioned to provide advice and create a design for a new kitchen and the living areas, hallway, and attic floor of a monumental canal house, and to execute the project in Leiden for the client together with his team.
An important starting point for Robbert Lagerweij in the development of the new design was the client’s request that the ‘look and feel’ of the kitchen and living areas should match the characteristic atmosphere of the property.
The kitchen design and living room design has been given a classic, timeless, and luxurious appearance. Through the combination of the black stone countertop and the fronts/kitchen cabinet doors and drawers finished in the wall colour, together with the solid bronze/copper fittings, an exciting combination has been created. The upper kitchen cabinets with classic checkered glass doors above the countertop, fitted with lighting, provide additional storage space and illuminate the work surface.
